New Year’s Eve Soirée + Green Figs, Prosciutto & Blue Cheese Topped Crostini
Oh the new year. It ushers in feeling of renewal, energy and a fresh start. As soon as the clock strikes midnight everyone gets another chance to make the upcoming year their greatest year yet! Tomorrow night I’ll be hosting my very first New Year’s Eve Soirée. There will be confetti, horns, hats, champagne, Cards Against Humanity, and (of course) delicious food. I mean, what’s a party without the food?
This year I’ve teamed up with the Food Bloggers of Canada to pull together a pretty awesome menu. From cocktails and appetizers, to desserts and favours, my guests will not be leaving with an empty stomach. Head on over to the FBC blog where you can find my full New Year’s Eve Soirée menu!
Included in my FBC menu is one of my most popular recipes, a delicious Fig, Prosciutto & Goat Cheese Crostini. Due to it’s popularity I thought I’d offer up a tasty variation using rich and flavourful blue cheese.
Green Figs, Prosciutto & Blue Cheese Topped Crostini
This is the perfect appetizer for entertaining this holiday season. This quick and easy to prepare crostini features salty prosciutto, sweet figs and rich blue cheese. The flavours really come together oh-so nicely!
Ingredients
4 ½-inches slices of fresh baguette
1 tbsp olive oil
4 slices of prosciutto
4 fresh figs, thinly sliced
4 tbsp crumbled blue cheese
Method
1. Preheat oven to 350. Line baking tray with baguette slices. Brush with olive oil. Bake just until warm.
2. Top baguettes with prosciutto, sliced figs, and crumbled blue cheese. Serve.
Wishing you all the best for the New Year!
