This happens every year - the giant purse I have been dragging around with me for the past 11 months is starting to show its age. The zippers no longer close. The buttons are falling off. The lining has a hole it in. The strap is cracking and flaking. All signs that it is time... time to get a new purse.
The worst part about having a purse big enough to fit my wallet, my make-up and practically an entire change of wardrobe (if needed) is that I cannot downsize. Trust me, I've tried. I call this, the curse of the big purse. Ever since I purchased a big purse, and hauled my entire life around in it for years, I cannot downsize. There have been times when I've taken a chance and bought a smaller handbag, but as soon as I come to realize that the rarely used item I am frantically searching for in my new neatly-organized-tiny-purse is no longer in there, I'm out! Fact: the moment you remove something you never use from your purse, you will need it. I inevitably end up switching back to a purse that is of gigantic proportions, and the cycle begins again.
The curse of the big purse is real.

haha, I can totally relate! i'm loving that MK purse, it's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI've been carrying around a small Coach clutch since Christmas - no purse! It's actually been ok, no more lugging around a big bag, but I did like the option of having a place to put larger items while shopping... I might go for a handbag size this Spring.
ReplyDeleteI love the nautical look to the MKors, I have trouble WEARING the nautical look so a purse is an awesome way to work that trend into my wardrobe! Love it B, well done!
ReplyDeleteThe MK is one of my top 3... and yes, I know what you mean about wearing the nautical look - more often than not I look like a confused sailor.
ReplyDeleteImpressed! I wish I could fit everything into a clutch!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has experienced this curse at one time or another!
