Pork Roast with Carrots, Potatoes & Onions | Crock-Pot Giveaway
It should come as no surprise by now that I love my slow cooker! I can’t think of anything better than leaving for work in the morning, and coming home in the evening to a hot and ready meal. And who should we thank for this convenience? Crock-Pot.
In 1971 Crock-Pot created the original slow cooker. At that time it revolutionized how food was prepared. Today Crock-Pot has become a household name, with a full line of slow cookers to choose from, including this brand new Designer Series Programmable Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker.
When given the opportunity to try it out, I could’t say no, I mean look at this thing…. Its sleek, rectangular design allows for a massive 6qt oval stoneware insert, hidden handles and integrated cord. I think what I love most is the stoneware is dishwasher safe… and we all know how long I waited for a dishwasher!
Traditionally slow cookers are used for dishes like roasts & chili, but really you can cook almost anything – from crème brule to lamb shanks – in a slow cooker. Although I would have loved to tackle a crème brule, I stuck with a very traditional Rosemary & Herb Pork Roast with Carrots, Potatoes & Onions… the perfect comforting meal on a cold Canadian winter day.
