I would like to introduce you to Mr. Hoosier.
Mr. Hoosier is the newest addition to my antique furniture collection... and by "addition" I mean he is the first. Mr. Hoosier is very old... and speaks with a french accent, don't ask why.
He was handed down to my grandfather over 30 years ago. At that time Mr. Hoosier, I'm afraid to say, was kind of a homeless bum. He somehow made his way into our family's barn and disguised himself as a ratty-old work bench. Luckily my grandfather found him and cleaned him up.
Mr. Hoosier finally made his way into my house... and despite his age, and life experience, I think he is very handsome and distinguished.
Everyone, say hello.

Do you have any antiques that were passed down in your family?
...
oh he is MAGNIFICENT! I love him so much and I know my Sister would drool over him. How great that you were handed this down! I thought it came from an antique store. I have a sewing table of my Nana's that I love :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful piece of furniture! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteI know, right! I would love to have an old sewing table! Is it one that has the sewing machine attached, and you sort of have to flip it to get access to the sewing machine?
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannon, I think so too! But you should have seen it before my grandfather fixed it up... it was painted an ugly grey, and was in pretty bad shape.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece! I wish I had pieces like this in my family that could be passed on. Lucky girl!!
ReplyDeleteThanks doll! :)
