Spicy Chili Garlic Shrimp

Gawd do I love shrimp. I am positive I could eat them everyday. Shrimp is pretty much the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There’s uh… shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo.

Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried.

There’s pineapple shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. Yeah… tha–that’s about it.

Sidenote: 10 bucks goes to the person who can name that movie 😉

Anyways, I had this shrimp dish prepared for me by one of my amazing friends while on my recent camping trip. I could have seriously eaten the entire pan. No really. They had to physically remove me from the picnic table. I may have even growled a little… it wasn’t pretty.

So, last night I took advantage of my craving and whipped up my own Spicy Chili Garlic Shrimp…

Sidenote: You, and your entire house, will smell like garlic and shrimp for approximately 12 hours… I suggest sleeping alone.

Spicy Chili Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients
1 bag of frozen raw butterflied jumbo shrimp (I used one that was pre-seasoned with garlic & parsley)
1/2 cup water
1/3 oil
1 (big) tbsp of Chili Garlic Sauce

Method
1. Cook shrimp from frozen. Add 1/2 cup water to a fry pan. Heat on high for 2-3 minutes. Add frozen shrimp, cook 6-7 minutes, until shrimp are turning pink and most of the water has evaporated.
2. Pour off any left over water so that pan is dry. Add oil and Chili Garlic Sauce to the pan. Stir-fry shrimp an additional 2-3 minutes.
3. Remove shrimp from pan onto plate. Spoon the chili oil over top. Serve with a crusty baguette to absorb the chili oil. Yum!

Now this is a recipe that Pvt. Benjamin Buford ‘Bubba’ Blue would be proud of… get it yet? LOL.

What food could you eat everyday?
