All Jacked Up!
Here’s what we did about it…
This might look like a simple task, but trust me, Perfectionist Dad made it very hard and time consuming!
This should give you a rough idea as to how slanted the floors are; the legs on both the washer and dryer are jacked up as far as they will go without falling out!
And as you can see if wasn’t just enough to have the board screwed into the concrete floor… noooo… we needed to make sure that they washer/dryer wouldn’t move itself off the board, hence the floor protectors, which are screwed to the board which is screwed to the floor.
Needless to say, this washer/dryer is not going anywhere anytime soon!
Once that was figured out (along with the dryer venting… which we will NOT get into!), it was onto the corroded pipes.
These honestly looked like they hadn’t been used in YEARS!!! Since the house didn’t come with a washer/dryer I assumed that was the case.
We ended up buying new valves and hoses, cutting the old ones off, then soldering the new ones on… Ahhh, much better!
If I remember correctly this took probably 3 hours, and two glasses of wine after the fact for me!
